They say you should never peak too soon. Given how high the bar has been set from the beginning, its hard to know where the peak is, but we're pretty confident that when it comes to this origin, todays feature is up there with the best of them.

We first featured this producer in July 2020, feature 21 following up with another roaster during April 2022.

Today is round three, again with a different roaster, this time Vanguard Coiffee Co bringing us our first Kenyan of the calendar.

Meet the Producer: (Words by Vanguard Coffee Co)

Located on the slopes of Mount Kenya, Kamwangi is one of three Factories managed by the New Ngariama Cooperative Society. With an average of 250 coffee trees per member, a total of 986 active members contribute cherry to Kamwangi. Once cherries are harvested, the coffee cherries are hand sorted for unripes and overripes by the farmers before processing. The cherry is removed and the coffee fermented for 24-36 hour under shade depending on the temperature . After fermentation the coffee is washed and graded by density in washing channels. They are then taken to the drying tables where they will be sun dried 12 to 20 days on African drying beds. The time depends on weather conditions. Coffee is covered in plastic during midday and at night to protect the beans from moisture and rain
